Jennifer Garner, born April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas, was born in Charleston West Virginia. Her father, William John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in the same college as her. So that she could follow the footsteps of her father she obtained a degree in chemical engineering. In order to fulfil her dream to become an actress, she moved into New York. Her Broadway role was accompanied by a job in a local eatery. Garner was a small part in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she first met Scott Foley). Her breakthrough came in the action film "Alias." Garner's first leading role was the acclaimed romance "13 Going on 30." She played an teen who was locked in the body a 30-year-old. Garner selected Gary Winick as the director of the film. They continued searching for roles until Winick's passing in 2011. Garner was made an ambassador for artists by Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promotion of national literacy along with nutrition, early childhood education, and many other aspects. In 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees of this organization, pushing for early elementary education. She is an ambassador and frequently interacts with families that are involved in the organization's Early Steps to School Success program that guides parents on ways to support youngsters develop.
